Center Stage Theater
Fontana, California
Center Stage Theater was originally designed by famed architect CH Boller in 1937. The City of Fontana who purchased this historic building surveyed citizens and discovered an interest in live theater in Fontana.
The City wanted the building to support a full dinner theater as well as small conferences or events. The existing theater structure did not provide sufficient space for all required program elements so it was decided that the adjacent retail building be integrated into the theater so that it could accommodate all the necessary support functions.
Finally, a lot of care was taken in designing the nighttime lighting and surface rendering to create a dramatic and celebratory nighttime image for the building. It clearly helped to make Fontana's Center Stage Theater an important and treasured landmark in their civic center area.
