Cal Arts - Arts Building Expansion

BBA Architecture was the design architect for this Graduate level painting Studio at the renowned Cal Arts campus in Santa Clarita, California. The building accommodates 16 private painting studios, an area for student work critique, and a classroom. The building's north facing clerestories are designed to capture the maximum amount of natural day lighting for the interior while the building's south facing white roof helps reflect unwanted heat. The interior studio partitions are kept below the interior ceiling to more evenly distribute the captured daylight for painting.
